Comparison

Fretso vs Happy Pet Tech

Four claims on their page are wrong. Here is the corrected table, and a straight answer on when they suit you better.

Fretso

A full ERP for pet businesses. Real accounting and stock underneath, with retail, grooming, boarding and veterinary on one shared pet record.

Happy Pet Tech

A pet care SaaS positioned on affordability and a fast setup, aimed at grooming, boarding and daycare operators.

Setting the record straight

What Happy Pet Tech's comparison page gets wrong

These are marked as things Fretso cannot do. Each one is a core module, and each links to the screen.

  • 01

    “No boarding & daycare support”

Full boarding module: run-level reservations, live occupancy, a vaccination gate at check-in, daily care logs and a going-home report card.

    See the module
  • 02

    “No pet retail store capabilities”

Full retail POS: barcode till, per-line tax, stock that drops as you sell, purchase orders, supplier ledgers and a cash-reconciled day close.

    See the module
  • 03

“No advance payment or wallet system”

Prepaid wallets as a real ledger, topped up by the customer and redeemable at any counter in any branch.

    See the module
  • 04

    “No multi-business-type management”

Running several service lines off one shared pet record is the entire premise of the product, and the reason it exists.

Fretso's column is verified against the shipping product. Happy Pet Tech's column is taken only from their own public statements (their published Fretso comparison page, read 11 August 2026); where we have not seen a claim either way it is marked not stated rather than guessed. Products change. Check anything that matters directly with the vendor.

Honestly

Which of us you should actually buy

A comparison page that never concedes anything is worth nothing to you. Here is the real split.

Choose Happy Pet Tech if

  • You want the lowest monthly price and a setup measured in minutes
  • You run one grooming location and expect to stay that way
  • You want a published price rather than a quote
  • You need to be live this week and can accept generic configuration

Choose Fretso if

  • You run more than one service line and want them on one pet record
  • You carry stock, or dispense anything that should come off a shelf
  • You need real double-entry accounting, not an invoicing screen
  • You run several branches and need both per-branch and consolidated numbers
  • You want your data in an open format you can leave with

How to actually decide

Don’t decide from either of our comparison pages. Do this instead:

  1. Write down your five most annoying daily tasks. Not features. Tasks.
  2. Demo both, and make each vendor perform those five tasks on their real software while you watch.
  3. Ask both the same three questions: what does this cost at my size, what happens to my data if I leave, and who answers the phone at 9am on a Saturday.
  4. Ask for a reference in your country running roughly your business.

Any vendor who won’t do the five tasks live is showing you a slide deck.

The short version

Their page says Fretso can’t do boarding, retail, wallets or multi-service. It does all four, and those modules are the reason the product exists.

They may well still be the better fit for you, particularly if you’re small, single-service and price-sensitive. That’s a legitimate reason to choose them, and it’s a better reason than a comparison table that isn’t accurate.

If you want to see the modules in question rather than read about them, book twenty minutes.
